Figurative Destructuralism: The Concept
Figurative Destructuralism, in its broadest sense, is defined by a questioning of the figure and established conventions. It seeks to deconstruct forms, norms, and traditional codes, privileging the exploration of subjectivity and individual experience. This artistic movement emphasizes abstraction, fragmentation, and the deconstruction of visual reality.
Figurative Destructuralism combines these principles with recognizable figurative representations. It proposes an expressive and innovative approach to figuration by moving away from the systemic logic of Structuralism, in order to rethink the representation of the human being—not solely as an element of a social system, but as a singular individual embedded within collective dynamics today.
