Déstructuralisme Figuratif
By Laurent Bertran de Balanda – LBDEB

In my work, I bring together figurative elements within restructured compositions, shaped by imagined possibilities. After fragmenting and transforming figurative forms, and moving beyond a fixed monocular vision, the recomposition of these forms reveals a new and prolific coincidence. Once extracted from reality, the images return to it, but without the possibility of direct analogical juxtaposition: in turn, they permeate that reality, marked by the imaginary that runs through it.
My recurring themes arise from organic, vegetal, or human-made forms. Captured from reality and then recomposed, they trace spaces of impression guided by a restructured use of light. Luminous structures create a link between these forms, suggesting a possible path of impression. Within my visual spaces, forms of faces and eyes merge with urban interior or exterior forms, whether linear or distorted.
I want the audience to be able to see, read, and imagine in my works possibilities of impression, revealed through the connections between figurative or abstract forms present in each visual space. I do not impose a reading; I open up a field in which each person can project their own associations.
My upcoming projects are part of this continuity. I am preparing several exhibitions, including a digital art exhibition in Paris at the beginning of July with Hybrid’s Crib at Galerie Étienne de Causans, as well as the DF Project Fair at the beginning of October at Parc Citroën. These are all opportunities to continue exploring the forms, light, and imaginary coincidences that nourish my practice.
I joined the DF Art Project because its vision aligns with my approach: deconstructing reality in order to bring forth new formal coincidences shaped by the imaginary. My work consists of fragmenting figurative elements and then recomposing them to create visual spaces in which forms, once extracted from reality, return to it transformed.
My themes emerge from organic, vegetal, or architectural forms. Reorganized through light, they shape spaces of impression in which faces, eyes, and urban structures intertwine. I want the audience to be able to project their own associations onto them, without any imposed reading, leaving room for possibilities.
I continue this exploration of forms and light through several projects, including a digital art exhibition in Paris at the beginning of July with Hybrid’s Crib and the DF Art Project Fair in October at Parc Citroën. These events extend my research into the imaginary coincidences that nourish my practice
